About Us
As professionals working within the design and
construction field, we are acutely aware of Whidbey's need for housing diversity.
The four of us recognized that we share a balance of
skills uniquely suited to tackling this task and chose to answer the call.
From left: Sarah Birger is a trained landscape architect and certified yoga therapist.
Matthew Swett (her husband) is a licensed architect . Together they own and operate Taproot Architects at Bayview Corner. Chan Ye "Yessi" is an accountant finalizing her CPA licensure.
Brad Hankins (her husband) is a general contractor and owner of db Brad, a sustainably minded design and construction company located in Langley.
Schedule
Planning
We plan to finalize design, strategy and project planning by Spring of 2023
Permitting
Permitting and financing will take place next year with anticipated completion in the spring of 2024
Construction
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2024 with units ready to occupy in 2026

Now that we've completed the first draft of our conceptual design, we've decided to go "public" with our project and invite community members to participate with us in helping to bring this vision to life.
